Sacristans

Sacristans physically prepare the worship space for Sunday liturgies, for weddings and funerals, etc. They prepare the vessels, ritual books, vestments, etc. Sacristans are present to set up, and to clean and put away all items for the liturgy at which they serve. Sacristans may be scheduled for a particular Mass time, or may choose to serve at funerals or weddings. Training is provided.

Sacristans' Assistants

Assistants also do some physical work to prepare, clean, and maintain the various liturgical items, and order supplies necessary for liturgical celebrations. Assistants may usually schedule this work at their convenience, and may choose to contribute one, two or several hours a week or month, or may volunteer to work a few times a year on specific seasonal tasks. Training is provided.
